Father Mark's Musings
Back-to-School Blessings!
It was wonderful to see the students, faculty, staff, and administrators come up at the end of last Sunday's service for a back-to-school blessing. For those who teach, those who learn, and all who support them, may you gain wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, and knowledge in this 2024-2025 academic year.
Formation @ Cathedral St. James
“The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only by its people feeling that they are worthwhile.” ― Mr. Fred Rogers
Using Mr. Rogers's logic, St. James children, youth, and adults can best thrive in our world if they feel seen, loved, and worthwhile. The mustard seed of faith is within all of us, young and old, and in our Sunday formation, we help that seed grow through story, imagination, and shared time.
In September, we will begin our formation programs again. To learn more about formation at St. James, or if you would like to have your children attend one of the formation offerings, see Father Mark or contact him by email at Formation@stjamessouthbend.org
or phone (574) 232-4837, ext. 1006.
Blessings,
Fr. Mark
Crop Walk To End Hunger
No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the St Joseph County CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a gathering of people in a place. We're part of a movement, taking steps and raising funds together to provide meals for those in our community who need them and support programs that create greater food security in communities all around the world. The Walk is on Sunday, September 29, at 2:00 in Howard Park.
Please join us in the fight against hunger. The steps we take and the funds we raise will make a difference in the lives of others. Here is a link to the St. James page, or if you have further questions, see Hal Culbertson or email him at halculbertson@gmail.com
