Care & Share
Care & Share contributions are collected every week and donated once a month to one of our local, non-profit partners.
Our main recipient is St. Margaret’s House, the Cathedral’s primary community partner. We are also honored to host St. Margaret’s House in the building behind our church.
Care and Share contributions may be made using the Care and Share envelopes available in the pew, by choosing Care and Share on the Givelify app, or by selecting the “Donate Now” button.
Gather and Grow Campaign
The goal of our Gather & Grow capital plan is to improve the physical fabric of our buildings to support ALL of our ministries, including those that involve the larger community. Our plan continues the operate based on our previous work with Heritage & Hope, focusing on accessibility and functionality. Our #1 priority project is a new elevator allowing stairs-free access to every level of our campus for the first time! For more information, visit our Gather & Grow Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CSJGather/.
Cathedral Endowment
Through the generous gift of an anonymous donor in 2016, the Cathedral of Saint James established an endowment fund through the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. Contributions to the endowment fund can be made by clicking the link below, selecting “a favorite charity’s endowed fund” on the form, and choosing “Cathedral Church of St. James.”
Pledging
Financial contributions made through an annual pledge allow each of us to actively participate in realizing our church's mission. It is only through our collective effort that we can support the myriad of programs, services, and spaces that enrich our community. Your pledge is a direct contribution to the vibrancy and vitality of our church, ensuring that it remains a beacon of faith, a welcoming environment, and a community for generations to come.
Other Ways to Give
We are happy to discuss alternative plans for giving with you - just give us a call!
Consider the lasting impact of Planned Giving, where thoughtful estate planning allows you to leave a legacy that will nurture our church's mission long into the future. Contributing Stocks can be another powerful way to support our community while potentially maximizing the impact of your generosity. Donor-Advised Funds also can allow for strategic and tax-efficient philanthropy.
And finally, while recent changes to tax law have certainly had an impact on charitable giving, individuals who are 70 1/2 or older can still get a tax advantage when making charitable contributions through a Qualified Charitable Distribution from a donor’s IRA. The advantage lies in the fact that these direct transfers are excluded from the donor's taxable income. This not only fulfills charitable intentions but also offers a tax-efficient way to meet Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
May need to update name of campaign on Givefy too.
