From the Dean

Norm Dales, Steven Slaubaugh, & Baseball: June 25
Norm Dales, a long-time member of the Cathedral community, died in the early days of the pandemic. The funeral for this great saint of God, who was - among other things - a well-known little league baseball coach and the last of our World War II veterans, could only be attended by a handful of people seated at a safe distance from one another. Norm deserved better. The Cathedral community deserved better. Therefore, we are going to honor and remember Norm on Sunday, June 25 at the 10:30 am service.

Steven Slaubaugh, a six-year member of the Cathedral community and three-year Cathedral staffer, is moving with his family to Connecticut where Dr. Samantha Slaubaugh will begin post-doc work at Yale University. Steven began his tenure on staff just before the pandemic struck. His extraordinary skill and adaptability were instrumental not only in keeping the Cathedral going while we were unable to meet in person and as we regathered with restrictions, but in actually strengthening our education and program life through and beyond that time. On the Slaubaugh's last Sunday with us, we will honor Steven - who also happens to be a former baseball player and continues to be a devoted fan.

It makes sense, then, that on the afternoon of Sunday, June 25, we will head down the street to Four Winds Field to watch the South Bend Cubs take on the Fort Wayne Tin Caps. Tickets are just $13 each. We purchased a block of 60 tickets,
11 of which are still available as of this writing. See the ad below for ordering information.

So come on out on Sunday, June 25 for a great day of remembering, celebrating, and cheering!

Summer Camp Week!
The Diocese of Northern Indiana annual summer camp program is in session this week at Camp Alexander Mack in Milford, Indiana. Please pray for campers, staff, and coordinators alike as they wrap up another camp week tomorrow!

Blessings,
Brian

Slaubaugh Farewell Fund

I will say more about the import and impact of Steven Slaubaugh's ministry at the Cathedral in the coming weeks, not to mention the joy and blessing of having Samantha, Eliza, and Rey in the Cathedral community. Please join Tamisyn and me in sharing and outward and visible sign of our love and appreciation by making a gift to the Slaubaugh Farewell Fund, which we will present to Steven on Sunday, June 25. You may give by cash or check on Sundays between now and then, or through Givelify. Thank you so much!

A New Album from John Liberatore
in collaboration with Zohn Collective

I could not be happier to say that my new CD Catch Somewhere was released on June 2, with New Focus Recordings.

A collaboration with Zohn Collective, the album features some of the most profoundly musical and generous people I know, including flautist Molly Barth, guitarist Dieter Hennings, tenor Zach Finkelstein, pianist (and harpsichordist!) Daniel Pesca, percussionist Paul Vaillancourt, and conductor Tim Weiss, playing four pieces of mine from 2011 to the present.

I would be sincerely grateful if you consider purchasing the album at this link:
