Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a forty day season of penitence and fasting in preparation for Easter. It is a day of fasting, which may range from abstaining from all food until after the evening service to eating very simply throughout the day. The purpose of the fast is to be aware of physical hunger as an outward sign of our inward longing for God. Ash Wednesday is also a holy day of obligation, meaning that Christians are expected to attend worship if at all possible. The Cathedral has morning and evening services to best accommodate our congregation. Blessings all as we embark upon a holy and meaningful Lent.

Additional copies of log sheets for 40 Days through Philippians & Matthew and the Lenten Century challenge have been printed and placed at the back of the Cathedral. If you would like to print your own, follow the links to the right.

Ashes to Go
We'll try again next year.

The forecast says there is a 100% chance of outdoor misery throughout much of the day (cold + wind + rain).  That all adds up to no, thank you by my calculations.
