The Cathedral of Saint James

Youth Formation at the Cathedral

The youth group at the Cathedral of Saint James consists of seventh through twelfth graders that typically meet after coffee hour on Sundays. After a brief lunch, they play games and discuss a spiritual or scriptural lesson. More information about youth activities can be directed to Tamisyn Grantz, our Youth Coordinator

Many adults assist in discussion with the youth group. The youth at St. James enjoy praying (especially Compline), are very active in the life in the church, and discuss faith topics.

Recent youth programs have included:

· Youth Group Team at Quiz Night

· Retreats at the Diocesan Conference Center

· Participation in the Diocesan Summer Camp

· Lock-ins. Some have been based on a retreat model, others have been more social and focused around a movie series. Rock-climbing and prayer lock-ins in Kalamazoo, MI have occurred as well

· Outings to stage and concert performances of their peers, to the movies, to the corn maze, and to parties at parishioners' houses
